Chelsea v QPR Odds Betting Preview

Premiership action Sunday afternoon comes from Stamford Bridge featuring Chelsea versus Queens Park Rangers.

The whole game can be seen Live on Sky Sports 1 with a scheduled 1:30pm (BST) Kick Off Time.

Chelsea head into this game with confidence at the club soaring having done the impossible by reaching the Champions League Final over Barcelona, add to that they also have a place in the FA Cup Final and one would think that owner Roman Abromavich has no option now but to hand Roberto Di Matteo the managers job full time, especially if his side were to win both trophies.

Queens Park Rangers are fighting for their Premiership survival and with three games of the season left to play incuding this one against Chelsea, manager Mark Hughes really does have a difficult task on his hands to keep his side involved in Premiership football for next season.

Chelsea v QPR Team News

Roberto Di Matteo will be without Gary Cahill and David Luiz who are both out with respective injuries and Branislav Ivanovic is suspended and like last weekend the Chelsea stand in manager looks likely to bring in Sturridge, Michael Essien, Florent Malouda and give a well deserved rest to Drogba, Lampard and company.

Mark Hughes will be missing Adel Taarabt who is out with suspension having been sent off against former employers Tottenham Hotspur and both Alejandro Faurlin and Kieron Dyer remain on the sidelines due to long term injuries.

Chelsea v QPR Head to Head Statistics

Sunday afternoon’s fixture will become the 37th meeting between the two clubs over the years and all the results from the previous matches can be viewed in our head to head statistics table shown below.

  • Chelsea Victories : 14 (11 at Stamford Bridge)
  • Draws : 13 (5 at Stamford Bridge)
  • QPR Victories : 9 (2 at Stamford Bridge)

The Scouts Match Verdict

Chelsea dominate the head to head statistics having won more times than QPR both overall and when having home advantage and although some notable players will be handed the day off, Chelsea still have an abundance of talent to call upon that in my opinion will easily get the job done.

The reverse fixture of this game ended in controversey with John Terry being accused on racial abuse on Anton Ferdinand and which saw Chelsea finish the match 1-0 with just nine men and you can be certain that the whole Chelsea side will be looking for some redemption in this game.

Ive not been impressed by QPR this season and also don’t rate Mark Hughes as a Premiership manager, they did beat Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, but it seems everyone is doing that at the moment and for me this result can only go one way and that is a comfortable Chelsea victory.
