Leicester City v Chelsea Match Preview

These two teams have been the league’s main talking points so far this season with very contrasting stories. Leicester have gone from avoiding relegation last season to top of the table this season whilst Chelsea have gone from winning the league to having just 15 points after 15 matches compared to Leicester’s 32.

Leicester have been sensational throughout the opening stages of the season and whilst most people have expected them to fall and are still expecting them to fall, they have actually improved in recent matches. Their defence has shown solidarity conceding just two goals in four matches and their attacking duo of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are showing no signs of slowing down after Mahrez bagged himself a hat-trick last week against Swansea.

Chelsea have started to improve over the last couple of months and in certain matches they have resembled the team that became Champions last year but after a humiliating home defeat to Bournemouth last weekend, they couldn’t have been given a tougher fixture to rebound in. Their defence has been solid recently and they will need it to be at their best here if they want to restrict the highest scoring team in the league.

Leicester City Latest Team News:

Leicester have been fortunate with injuries so far this season as they are without just Ritchie de Laet and Matty James at the moment. Leicester’s starting eleven has remained virtually unchanged over the past few matches but it will be interesting to see who will start up top with Jamie Vardy has Claudio Ranieri has been chopping and changing between Okazaki and Ulloa.

Chelsea Latest Team News:

Despite Chelsea’s dreadful start to their title defence, their only doubt going into this match lies with Radamel Falcao. However, it will be interesting to see whether Diego Costa will return to the stating line-up or whether Eden Hazard will continue to lead the line for the Blues.

But in the 47 matches in which Leicester City have hosted the meeting, they have done very well to turn that record around and have actually been fairly dominant at home after beating Chelsea in 19 of those meetings whilst losing just 11.

Therefore, the head to head statistics suggest that Leicester have a decent chance of victory due to their home advantage but Chelsea could also win the match as they have been the stronger team overall.

Leicester City vs Chelsea Current Betting Odds Market

Leicester City are the underdogs to win this game with the online bookmakers and you can obtain a best price of 11/5 with BetVictor – £50 Free Bets for New Customers.

The Draw does look a possibility in this match and I would be tempted to have a bet on it possibly as a cover with best available odds of 13/5 with Bet365 – £200 Matched Bonus Bets for New Customers.

Chelsea are currently the favourites to win this match but I don’t expect them to and I would avoid betting on the Blues here. The best price is 11/8 with Coral – Deposit £5 & Receive £20 Free Bets for New Customers.

Leicester City vs Chelsea Free Sports Bets, Tips & Predictions

I think that Leicester are great value to get at least a point in this game, they have lost just one game in 15 so far this season whilst Chelsea haven’t won an away match in the league since August. Leicester have scored in all of their last fourteen home matches in all competitions and with a stronger defence that has conceded just two goals in the last three matches at home, they should have more than enough to earn at least a point here.

And as for my saver I have decided to go for the main man Jamie Vardy to grab a goal in this match, it is a tough decision between himself and Riyad Mahrez but Mahrez will be facing a tough Azpilicueta whereas Vardy could take advantage of the lack of pace in John Terry.
